Lady Cats Purple wins championship of the USA Cup Soccer Tournament at Blaine, MN
The Flint Hills Soccer Club 13-and-under Lady Cats Purple went undefeated (6-0) and won the championship of the U-13 Girls Division (Medal Flight) of the 22nd Annual International Youth Soccer Tournament conducted during July 19-23, 2006 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota.
In the first game on Wednesday, July 19, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the WBL Vibe from White Bear Lake, MN 5-0. Jimenez scored a hat trick. Hollie Wickham and Kelly Thomson each added one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Annissa Durar, Katy Van Nevel, Kylie Rupe, Lindsy Ekart, and Kelsey Estep. Jackie Gonzalez, Chloe Weston, Veronica Pitchford, and Erin Hickman played goal keepers during the game and were credited with the shut out.
In game two on Thursday, July 20, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the Centennial Cougars from Circle Pines, MN 5-1. Jimenez scored twice. Wickham, Chinazo Ehie, and Durar each added one goal for the Lady Cats with two assists from Arianna Levin and one assist each from Rupe, Estep, and Sarah Tatarko.
In game three on Friday, July 21, the Lady Cats Purple blanked the Hopkins Dynamo from Hopkins, MN 6-0. Durar scored twice. Levin, Onyeka Ehie, Rupe and Jimenez each added one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Rupe, Jimenez, Levin, Durar, Chinazo Ehie, and Lindsy Ekart. Gonzalez, Weston, Pitchford, and Hickman played goal keepers during the game and were credited with the shut out.
In the quarter-final game on Saturday, July 22, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the Blaine Angels from Blaine, MN 2-1. Ekart and Jimenez each scored one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Durar and Estep.
In the semi-final game on Saturday, July 22, the Lady Cats Purple blanked the United FC Black from Kenosha, WI 5-0. Thomson scored twice. Estep, Ekart, and Levin each scored one goal for the Lady Cats with two assists from Onyeka Ehie and one assist each from Durar, Chinazo Ehie, and Jimenez.
In the Championship game on Sunday, July 22, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the SLP Orioles from St. Louis Park, MN 2-1. Ekart and Jimenez each scored one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Estep and Rupe.
