Lady Cats White wins championship of the U-12 division and Lady Cats Purple places third in the U13-15 division of the Kansas Challenge Cup Soccer Tournament at Manhattan


The Flint Hills Soccer Club Lady Cats White went undefeated (3-0-1) to win the championship of the U-12 Girls Division of the Kansas Challenge Cup Soccer Tournament in Manhattan last weekend.

The Lady Cats White tied their first game against the McPherson Strikers 2-2. Onyeka Ehie and Kelly Thomson each scored one goal for the Lady Cats with two assists from Whitney Tanner.

In game two, the Lady Cats White blanked the LASC Patriots 5-0. Faith Herrera scored the first goal from a penalty kick. Bree Busch added two goals and Annissa Durar and Thomson one goal each for the Lady Cats. Two assists were credited to Durar and one each to Ehie and Tegyn Perkin. The shutout was credited to goal keepers Veronica Pitchford and Kristen Thompson.

In game three, the Lady Cats White defeated the LASC Blue Lightning Blue 2-0. Thomson scored the two goals for the Lady Cats with two assist from Ehie. The shutout was credited to goal keepers Pitchford and Thompson.

In the championship game, the Lady Cats White defeated the McPherson Strikers 2-1. Thomson and Ehie each scored one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Durar and Ehie.

The Lady Cats White finished its Spring 2006 season with an overall record of (7-4-5).

The Flint Hills Soccer Club U-13 Lady Cats Purple went (2-1-1) and placed third in the U13-15 Girls Division of the Kansas Challenge Cup Soccer Tournament in Manhattan last weekend.

The Lady Cats Purple won their first game against the U-15 Garden City Fury 3-0. Susie Jimenez, Raychel Gadson, and Arianna Levin each scored one goal for the Lady Cats. The assists were credited to Hollie Wickham, Lindsy Ekart, and Kylie Rupe. The shutout was credited to goal keepers Jackie Gonzalez, Erin Hickman and Chloe Weston.

In game two, the Lady Cats Purple blanked the Kansas City Outlaws 4-0. Jimenez, Levin, Ekart, and Emily Lowman each scored one goal for the Lady Cats. Two assists each were credited to Jimenez and Levin. The shutout was credited to goal keepers Gonzalez, Hickman and Weston.

In game three, the Lady Cats Purple tied the Topeka Prodigy Wildfire 1-1. Rupe scored the lone goal for the Lady Cats from a penalty kick.

In the semi-final game, the Lady Cats Purple lost to the Topeka Hurricanes 3-0.

The Lady Cats Purple finished its Spring 2006 season with an overall record of (8-7-3).
