Lady Cats U-13 placed third in the 2007 Coca Cola Classic soccer tournament in Emporia

The Flint Hills Soccer Club 13-and-under Lady Cats soccer team went (3-1) and placed third in the U-13 Girls Division of the 2007 Coca Cola Fall Classic Soccer Tournament conducted in Emporia on October 6-7, 2007.

In their first game, the FHSC Lady Cats U-13 lost to the Kansas City Kansas Rush Swoosh 0-1.

In the second game, the FHSC Lady Cats U-13 defeated the Kansas City Renegades 1-0. Jessica Meadows scored the lone goal for the U-13 Lady Cats with an assist from Tarian Reeves. Goal keeper Kristen Thompson was credited with the shutout.

In the third game, the FHSC Lady Cats U-13 blanked the Wichita Azteca 1-0. Erika Goodwin scored the lone goal for the U-13 Lady Cats with an assist from Emily Heikkinen. Goal keeper Thompson and the defense line of Laura Hughes, Willie Stockton, Hanna Ruder, and Jessie Niemeyer were credited with the second shutout in the tourney.

In the fourth game, the FHSC Lady Cats U-13 defeated the Shawnee Elite Fury 2-1. Goodwin and Sarah Dodge each scored one goal for the U-13 Lady Cats with assist from Reeves and Shelby Hill.

The FHSC Lady Cats U-13 team’s overall record for the Fall-2007 is (5-4-2).

The Flint Hills Soccer Club High School 16-and-under Lady Cats soccer team also participated in the in Emporia Tournament.

The FHSC Lady Cats U-16 tied the Kansas City Kansas Rush Swoosh 0-0 in their only game in the tournament before it was cancelled because of bad weather. The shutout was credited to goal keepers Jackie Gonzalez and. Kaytlyn Anderson.
