Lady Cats Purple and White teams compete in league and tournament games


The Flint Hills Soccer Club 12-and-under Lady Cats Purple went 1-2 in the U-13 division of the 2005 TRYSA Scott Hummel Classic Soccer Tournament last weekend in Emporia.

The Lady Cats Purple lost their first game to the U-13 Wichita Storm Gold 5-1. Susie Jimenez scored the lone goal for the Lady Cats with an assist from Arianna Levin.

In game two, the Lady Cats Purple lost to the U-13 Kansas City Avalanche 6-1. Lindsy Ekart scored the lone goal for the Lady Cats with an assist from Levin.

In game three, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the U-13 Topeka Hurricanes 1-0. Kylie Rupe scored the lone goal for the Lady Cats from a penalty kick. The shutout was credited to goal keeper Jackie Gonzalez and the defense line of Erin Eckels, Jessica McHenry, Claire Lowman, Emily Lowman, Sarah Tatarko, and Claire Tolentino.

The Lady Cats Purple team also participated to two Wildcat League games in Manhattan. The Lady Cats Purple lost their first game to the U-14 LASC Inferno 3-1. Kelsey Estep scored the lone goal for the Lady with an assist from Jimenez. In game two, the Lady Cats Purple lost to the U-14 LASC Azzurri 2-1. Jimenez scored the lone goal for the Lady with an assist from Ekart.

The Flint Hills Soccer Club 12-and-under Lady Cats White team won its last two games in the Wildcat League. The Lady Cats White defeated the U-11 Manhattan Twisters 5-0. Ashley Vander Pol, Kelly Thomson, Katy Van Nevel, Jimenez, and Raychel Gadson each scored one goal for the Lady Cats. Amy Stockton, Bree Busch, Abby Buser, Claire Tolentino, and Thomson were credited with the assists. The shutout was credited to goal keeper Gonzalez. In game two, the Lady Cats White defeated the U-11 Yellowjackets 4-1. Jimenez, Busch, Thomson, and Van Nevel, each scored one goal for the Lady Cats. Stockton, Sophia Tolentino, Jimenez, and Christina Grogan were credited with the assists.
