The Flint Hills Soccer Club 12-and-under Lady Cats Purple went 3-0-1 and won the championship of the Kansas City Legends Invitational Soccer Tournament over the weekend at Shawnee Mission.
In the first game on Saturday, the Lady Cats tied the Lenexa Lightning 0-0 . Bethany Anderson and Jackie Gonzalez earned the shutout in goal.
In the second game on Saturday, the Lady Cats defeated the Topeka Prodigy Pegasus 2-0. Arianna Levin and Susie Jimenezeach scored one goal for the Lady Cats with two assists from Lindsy Ekart. Anderson and Gonzalez earned the shutout in goal.
In the third game on Sunday, the Lady Cats blanked the KC Legends Olympic 5-0. Jimenez scored a hat trick. Lacey Smith and Chinazo Ehie each scored one goal for the Lady Cats. The assists were credited to Kelsey Estep, Levin, Jimenez, Ekart and Annissa Durar. Anderson and Gonzalez earned the shutout in goal.
In the championship game on Sunday, the
Lady Cats defeated
Topeka Prodigy Pegasus 2-0.
Levin
scored twice for the Lady Cats with assists from
Ehie and Ekart.
The fourth shutout in the tournament was
