Lady Cats Win Championship of U-12 Girls Division of the Sunflower State Games Soccer Tournament

The Flint Hills Soccer Club 12-and-under Lady Cats team went 3-2 and won the championship of the U-12 Girls Division in the Soccer Tournament of the Sunflower State Game in Topeka over the weekend.

In the first game, the Lady Cats defeated the Topeka Strikers 5-0. Susie Jimenez scored a hat trick in the game. Hollie Wickham and Sarah Tatarko each added one goal for the Lady Cats. The assists came from Claire Tolentino, Wickham, Tatarko, Raychel Gadson, and Annissa Durar. Jackie Gonzalez, Erin Hickman, and Hannah Loughin played goal keepers during the game and were credited with the shutout.

In game two, the Lady Cats lost to the Topeka Select Dragons Boys Soccer Team 3-1. Jimenez scored the lone goal for the Lady Cats with an assist from Onyeka Ehie.

In game three, the Lady Cats lost to the Topeka Aztec Warriors Boys Soccer Team 3-2. Jimenez scored twice for the Lady Cats with assists from Kelsey Estep and Amy Stockton.

In game four, the Lady Cats defeated the Topeka Select Knights Boys Soccer Team 3-1. Jimenez scored her second hat trick in the tournament with assists from Durar, Gonzalez, and Estep.

In the championship game, the Lady Cats blanked the Topeka Strikers 6-0. Jimenez and Estep each scored two goals. Chinazo Ehie and Katy Van Nevel each added one goal for the Lady Cats. The assists came from Chinazo Ehie, Tolentino, Wickham, Tatarko, Gadson, and Durar. Gonzalez, Hickman, and Loughin played goal keepers during the game and were credited with the shutout.
