Lady Cats Purple wins championship of the TRYSA Coca Cola Classic Soccer Tournament at Emporia


The Flint Hills Soccer Club 13-and-under Lady Cats Purple went undefeated (5-0) and won the championship of the 2005 TRYSA Coca Cola Classic Soccer Tournament over the weekend at Emporia.

In the first game on Saturday, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the Wichita Flash 5-3. Lindsy Ekart scored a hat trick. Annissa Durar and Susie Jimenez each added one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Jimenez, Chinazo Ehie, Katy Van Nevel, Kylie Rupe, and Durar.

In game two on Saturday, the Lady Cats Purple blanked the Hutchinson Club Azzurri Blue Ice 7-0. Kelsey Estep scored a hat trick and Arianna Levin, Jimenez, Sarah Tatarko, and Rupe each added one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Levin, Jimenez, Tatarko, Durar, Ekart, Onyeka Ehie, and Claire Lowman. Jackie Gonzalez played goal keeper during the game and was credited with shut out.

In game three on Sunday, the Lady Cats Purple blanked the Kansas City Legends Olympic 7-0. Kelly Thomson scored twice and Levin, Jimenez, Claire Lowman, Emily Lowman, and Sandra Okot-Kotber each scored one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Jimenez, Chinazo Ehie, Erin Eckels, Okot-Kotber, Hannah Loughin, and Claire Tolentino. Gonzalez and Thomson played goal keepers during the game and were credited with the shut out.

In the semi-final game, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the Lawrence Kaw Valley Force 2-0. Levin and Durar each scored one goal for the Lady Cats with assists from Rupe and Estep. Gonzalez and Loughin played goal keepers during the game and were credited with the shut out.

In the Championship game, the Lady Cats Purple defeated the Wichita Flash 3-1. Estep scored the first goal for the Lady Cats with assist from Durar. Levin and Rupe each added one goal unassisted from a penalty kick and free kick, respectively.
